Mathematics of truss angles - Easy
In architecture and engineering, a truss is a
supporting structure or framework composed of
beams, girders, or rods, commonly made of steel or
wood lying in a single plane. A truss usually takes the
form of a triangle or combination of triangles, since this
design ensures the greatest rigidity.
Your teacher will show you the rules about angles
in triangles, quadrilaterals, intersections and parallel lines.
Here is a brief summary:
-
Sum of the angles in a triangle = 180°
-
Sum of the angles in a quadrilateral = 360°
-
Opposite angles are equal
-
For two parallel lines and a transversal,
corresponding angles are equal, and alternate angles
are equal.
